And it's all about Jorick Dorignac, already a favorite of the competition for several weeks! After a final that lasted more than 8 hours in the kitchens of the legendary George-V hotel, the executive chef of the restaurant NESO (1 Michelin star) managed to defeat his opponent in the final, Clotaire Poirier. It was alongside his coach Stéphanie Le Quellec, as well as his loved ones and his chef Guillaume Sanchez, a former participant in season 8 of Top Chef, that the candidate welcomed the news. The show aired this Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 9:10 pm on M6.

A closely contested final

There are news like this that are pleasing (sorry Clotaire, you deserved it too). Because while Jorick, accompanied by his brigade composed of Valentin, Pierre, Shirley, and Pavel, managed to charm the volunteers of the Red Cross, the score of this final was far from being written in advance. Indeed, Clotaire had also put up a tough fight, but in the end, victory belonged to Jorick. An unforgettable moment in the world of culinary competitions!

He received the honors of the jury composed of Philippe Etchebest, Hélène Darroze, Dominique Crenn Paul Pairet, and Glenn Viel, by obtaining no less than 34 out of the 50 points distributed. Jorick, on his side, got 16 points.

Ultimately, the votes of the other 100 guests who are members of the association were the ones that got Clotaire, tipping the score in favor of the Parisian candidate. Jorick wins the Season 15 finale with 56.54% of the votes, against 43.46% of the votes for Clotaire. A victory that made Stéphanie Le Quellec, a two-star Michelin guide and winner of Season 2 of Top Chef 13 years ago.

A brilliant journey

At 30 years old (29 at the time of the competition nldr), Jorick Dorignac became the 15th winner of the show, succeeding Hugo Riboulet and Louise Bourrat, the winners of seasons 14 and 13 of Top Chef. Speaking to Huffington Post, the young chef reveals: "I was so happy to be up against Clotaire. We experienced this final like a wrap party where we were all happy to see each other". This victory also allows him to win a prize of €56,540, calculated based on the score obtained at the time of the final.

From the moment he entered, he knew that this experience would change his life forever. In Top Chef, the chef from Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, in Gironde, had the brigade leaders impressed, especially Stéphanie Le Quellec. Despite some scary moments in the elimination round, the young man had a nearly flawless journey, winning over the guest chefs and achieving the most victories this season. He even won the Top Chef anniversary challenge, where contestants had to prepare a complete cocktail dinner enjoyed by 50 former participants of the show.

Today the executive chef of the NESO restaurant in Paris, Jorick Dorignac, says that he knew very early on that he wanted to be a chef: "When you keep pestering your parents to dress up as a chef, you are destined to become one," he says. Approached for several years to participate in the show, it wasn't until season 15 that the chef decided to take the plunge: "I really wanted to do a little reset and see where I was, to put myself in danger. I don't know why. I get bored quickly in my everyday life and I need to create some dynamism," he declared to the Huffington Post.
