For those of you who don't like fries – and we know that, unfortunately, there's a tiny handful of you on this planet – you can stop reading this article right now, you don't deserve it. For the rest, welcome to a page of joy, delight, and pleasure. Indeed, the best news of the week just dropped: Mallory Gabsi, one of our favorite contestants from season 11 of Top Chef – along with Adrien Cachot, of course – is opening his Belgian fritkot in the 2nd arrondissement. To enjoy it, head over starting June 27!
The grand return of 140°
During the 11th episode of season 11 of Top Chef, Adrien Cachot and Mallory Gabsi teamed up for the legendary restaurant war, dreaming up a concept unlike anything seen before in the show: ...
140°. A place centered around frying, whose name is actually a reference to the temperature of the oil needed for this cooking method. A few weeks later, the two semi-finalists realized the dream of all the fans of the show by opening this spot for real in the heart of the capital, temporarily on a barge, and then permanently in Brussels. Fast forward 6 years later, the youngest contestant, who has since become a starred chef and highly regarded, has decided to revive the concept in the streets of Paris. He now presents us (for the second time) 140°, a spot inspired by his fritkot already opened in Belgium, the home country of the former contestant.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
« Fries, fries, fries, fries, fries »
And there's no doubt about it, here, we take crispy potatoes very seriously. On the menu, carefully selected Agria potatoes from the Hauts-de-France, prepared with double frying at the perfectly measured temperature. The result is golden sticks to die for, both crunchy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Besides fries, you can also enjoy burgers, as well as a variety of Belgian specialties, like shrimp croquettes, fricadelle, and the mitraillette. All of this is enhanced by an endless selection of sauces, worthy of the finest Belgian fritteries. In short, a place where you can already picture yourself coming back again and again.
