It's an extraordinary project, crafted by one of the masters of the discipline. Trained around the globe by the best chefs, the globe-trotting Kamel Saci reinvents Parisian baking with Leonie Bakery Reuilly, which opened in the spring in the former Reuilly-Diderot military barracks (12th). At its heart is a monumental address of 1000 m², spread across two floors to blend artisanal expertise, contemporary spirit, and friendliness.

A hybrid concept in a historic location

Forget the classic neighborhood bakery: Leonie Bakery Reuilly is designed as a true living space. Nestled in the Reuilly barracks, transformed into a welcoming ecosystem housing apartments, shops, a daycare, and a public garden since September 2021, it offers an impressive array of options in a stylishly industrial decor. With a mural by the Parisian visual artist Olivia de Bona, warm dark wooden counters, and a burgundy polished concrete floor, every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

Through this hybrid concept, Kamel Saci aims to reconcile French baking tradition with a contemporary, local, and responsible approach. All products are made on-site using organic flours, natural sourdough, and ingredients sourced from certified channels. This meticulous approach is reflected in their range of breads.

signature – baguette Leonie (made with flour from the Viron mill in Chartres), Tourte de Meule, Cœur de Sarrasin, Tordu du Gers, or the bold Vollkornbrott with fruits – just like in our exceptional pastries: pure butter croissants, cinnamon-cardamom rolls, or chocolate, not to mention an amazing homemade basque cake

Lunch in the Shade of the Olive Trees

Thought of as a bucolic haven where it's lovely to gather around the table, Leonie Reuilly welcomes a mix of local workers and leisurely wanderers during lunchtime, all drawn in by its idyllic terrace lined with olive trees. On the menu: baguette sandwiches with seasonal recipes, homemade buns generously filled, fresh salads… The coffee shop, a result of a demanding partnership with L’Arbre à Café, prolongs the experience with a fine selection made on a Marzocco machine: whether you prefer espresso, flat white, iced coffee, or matcha latte, there’s something to delight every palate. Upstairs, a flexible space with a terrace can even be privatized for workshops or gourmet events. Staying true to the DNA of the Leonie house, which already includes establishments on rue de Lévis and avenue des Ternes (17th),...Trudaine (9th), rue d'Hauteville (10th), and rue Erlanger (16th) make this remarkable address stand out as a new standard of Parisian bakery.
