The capital of the Gauls is about to lose one of its shining stars. After ten delightful years, Passe Temps, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in the 6th district of Lyon, is getting ready to pack its bags and head to Paris. The opening is planned for the end of next year, and us Parisians can't wait to savor the chef's exquisite dishes!

A Franco-Korean Fusion Cuisine

Opened in 2014 by Korean chef Younghoon Lee – a graduate of the Paul Bocuse Institute – Passe Temps blends the best of France and Korea on our plates. In the kitchen, they honor classic French gastronomy and spice it up with elevated and umami-rich Korean flavors. The result? You might find on the menu, for instance, a melting bluefin tuna tartare with beetroot and fresh cream, or a low-temperature cooked monkfish medallion with a white kimchi sauce...

But in reality, the menu changes quite regularly.

ment, through the seasons and arrivals. A cuisine that earned the restaurant its first star in the Michelin Guide in 2016, just two years after its opening. As for the prices, you should budget between 75 and 115€ for a discovery menu at lunch, and 125€ for a seven-course dinner.

The Final Curtain for Passe Temps in Lyon

On the restaurant's Instagram account, Chef Younghoon Lee announced the permanent closure of his Lyon restaurant. The address will host its final dinner on the evening of December 14, and will then begin a long moving process before opening in Paris in late 2025 (or possibly early 2026) in a much larger space. For now, we don't know the exact new neighborhood he’ll be calling home. What we do know, though, is that the chef plans to keep the same name and concept, but unfortunately will lose his precious star. Nevertheless, we have no doubt he will conquer his new territory with ease!
