History-loving friends and food enthusiasts, or just curious visitors, how about taking a trip back to 1378? This February, the Conciergerie, an iconic monument in Paris's history, invites you to experience a grand banquet organized by Charles V as if you were really there. On the menu: a 10-course tasting experience right in the heart of the Gens d'Armes Hall at the Paris museum.

A little history lesson

On January 6, 1378, Charles V, then king of France, welcomed his uncle, Charles IV, to Paris. And since this fellow is none other than the first German emperor visiting the historical capital, the king decided to pull out all the stops (quite literally!) to honor this extraordinary guest. For this special occasion, he invited 800 people to gather in the Gens d'Armes Hall of the museum.

a Conciergerie, to delight you with recipes showcasing the entire culinary expertise of France from that time. Iconic dishes that have become emblematic, thanks to their preservation in a collection of popular recipes from the era: the Taillevent.

A Royal Banquet

This exceptional moment awaits you at the Center of National Monuments, right in the heart of the Conciergerie. For one enchanting evening, you can indulge in a 10-course tasting menu featuring unique recipes straight from Taillevent, and recreated for the first time thanks to a team of expert specialists in medieval cooking and the Middle Ages. We've heard about pilgrim capons that are sure to impress!

Aside from the food, which promises to be as innovative as it is delicious, the evening will be a chance to enjoy musical performances, giving us a taste of what the big parties of the 14th century were like, and even featuring a "flight of raptors". To be among the 80 guests who get to experience this unique event, you'll need to pay 60€ per person. It’s clear they really want to immerse us in 1378, as they’ve apparently kept the prices from that era, and we can’t complain about that!

This game lets you put your knowledge of the Parisian metro to the test!

After racking your brain to name as many French cities as you can, or trying to list all the Paris metro stations, here's a new puzzle that will challenge many. By combining speed and knowledge of the network, the website Metroguessr challenges you to see how well you know the Paris metro, its lines, stops, and connections. ### Geoguessr for Parisians For those unfamiliar with the concept of Geoguessr, here's a summary: on Google Street View, you are randomly dropped at a location around the world, and you have to find your location in the most accurate way possible in record time. Well, with Metroguessr, it's the same concept. For 1 minute, the map offers random points on the map, and you only have the color of the line concerned (or lines, in case of correspondence) as a clue. The principle is very simple, in 60 seconds, you have to name as many as possible.Let's have some brain-teasing fun! Getting a correct answer will earn you 5 points, but be careful, passing each station will make you lose 1 point. Those big train stations are easy to guess, but others can be tricky. Between Saint-Sulpice and Saint-Placide, it's easy to get lost for at least 15 seconds. Did you even know that Falguière was in the 15th arrondissement? The key takeaway here is that time flies by in 60 seconds, even though the answers are there, hinted from the start. So, it's best to team up and be quick on your feet. You'll thank us later.
