Tradition obliges — and we're not talking about bread — just like every year, the (almost) return of spring signals two things. On one hand, the election of the best traditional French baguette, and on the other, the arrival of the Fête du Pain, which takes place shortly after, as beautiful days officially settle into the capital. Good news, we finally know the dates for the 2027 edition.

A symbolic date

Since its launch in 1996, the Fête du Pain is the perfect opportunity for all curious souls to meet artisans ready to answer all their questions, and to share (almost) all their secrets behind the making of a good traditional French bread. But if it takes place every year with the arrival of the sunny days, it's not just a coincidence. In fact...

The festival takes place around May 16, the day of Saint-Honoré, the patron saint of bakers who also lent his name to an incredibly divine pastry. That's why in 2026, it will be celebrated from May 8 to 17, which is just a few days away (yes, we promise, time flies way too fast).

A Flurry of Events

10 days to celebrate the bread baguette, a true national treasure added to the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list in 2022! This is the perfect opportunity to attend demonstration workshops to learn all about the process of this tradition, from mixing to baking. You'll be able to discover different types of bread, and of course, taste them during tastings organized in this huge outdoor bakery. And just like every year, the Bread Festival will be a chance to hand out several awards, including that for the best croissant in Greater Paris with Charentes-Poitou butter AOP, as well as the best French sandwich, or perhaps the best traditional baguette, the winner of which was announced on February 26, 2026 !
