At Bonbon, there’s no debate: the best ramen in Paris is found at Kodawari. After slurping up some sardine ramen in a fish market and indulging in steaming broths in a charming Tokyo alley, the brand is taking us on another delightful Japanese adventure (and a bit unexpected). Kodawari Ueno is set to make a tasty splash in the heart of Paris, with a decor reminiscent of a Japanese train station and a menu that celebrates duck specialties. The good news? Opening is imminent!

The Ramen Institution in Paris

This is a place that needs no introduction. Kodawari Ramen is simply one of the best ramen spots in Paris, known for its immersive decor. The first location, Kodawari Yokocho, transports you to a Japanese alley.in the heart of rue Mazarine in the 6th, while the second, Kodawari Tsukiji, brilliantly succeeds in the crazy challenge of immersing us in the famous Tokyo fish market, with its bustling atmosphere and narrow passages, just a few steps from the Palais-Royal. The attention to detail is taken to the extreme each time to transport us elsewhere, and it works like a charm.

But true happiness is what’s on the plate. Here, the ramen is good. Very, very good. The broths are fragrant, the ingredients are carefully chosen, and the noodles are handmade in their own mill near Paris. In short, it’s incredible. Proof of this is that both restaurants are Michelin-rated, and that's really something!

New decor, new recipes

For his new and third location, Jean-Baptiste Meusnier – the chef behind Kodawari – is diving into new Japanese flavors for our delight. Kodawari Ueno is excited to unveil an entirely new menu, featuring recipes that highlight duck, especially duck from Périgord. And as for the ambiance, this time we’re immersing ourselves in the typical stalls you find in Tokyo train stations, vibrant places where locals gather, often after work. The address notably refers to...

Once at the famous Tokyo train station, pushing the details to the max: you might feel the counter and tables tremble a little, as if an actual train is really passing by!
