The Editor

One can say that after participating in the most-watched cooking show in France, Jean Covillault has been quite busy! The chef, with a cheerful personality as iconic as Lady Gaga's meat dress, has been involved in various pop-up projects: Court-Bouillon, a tribute to French cuisine in all its simplicity, La Belle Tablée, a friendly guinguette at the foot of Notre-Dame, and Des Restes, focused on fighting food waste. But after years of delighting us in every possible format, it seems that it's time to take a little break.

A much-anticipated address

This is the good news.culinary of the week. According to our colleagues from Actu Paris, Jean Covillault, who passed through the kitchens of Top Chef a few years ago Quentin Mauro, is currently exploring the possibility of opening his own restaurant in the streets of the capital. According to initial information, the place will be in the heart of the capital, and will offer friendly meals, much like everything the chef has proposed so far. A simple menu (but no less delicious), offered at a affordable price, somewhat in the style of a broth. And we are absolutely thrilled to know that this time, there will be no closing date, so no panic about needing to book in less than 5 minutes at the opening of reservations before everything gets filled up.

One last little treat before we go

Getting settled, yes, but not just yet. Indeed, before diving into this lovely project, our former candidate, a bit hyperactive, invites us until the middle of July for one last concept: the JeanJean aperitifs. In the 17th arrondissement, he invites you for a night like no other: aperitif boards, delicious main courses and desserts, all for just €25. What's on the menu right now? Cheeses, charcuterie, roasted broccoli, and eggplant caviar to start, followed by delicious stuffed tomatoes, moist rice, and fennel salad, and we wrap up with fruit salad, cream, and puff pastry. We can’t wait to enjoy this cuisine every day!
