The least we can say is that after participating in the most-watched cooking show in France, Jean Covillault has been anything but idle. The chef with a cheerful demeanor as contagious as a good case of Covid has been busy with a string of pop-up projects: Court-Bouillon, a tribute to French cuisine in all its simplicity, La Belle Tablée, a friendly guinguette at the foot of Notre-Dame, and Des Restes, aimed at fighting food waste. It seems that his ability to delight us with all possible formats knows no bounds, as he prepares to amaze our taste buds with Trop Plein.
A Highly Anticipated Spot
In <Last July, the culinary world was in boiling turmoil. After years of bouncing around from one style to another, delighting us with ever more quirky concepts, Jean Covillault was finally going to settle down a bit more in a restaurant. Unfortunately, the buzz was short-lived, as the chef with the unforgettable smile ultimately announced that his next spot, located in the 2nd arrondissement, would be nothing more than a new residency. Even though we're a bit bummed by this false alarm, let's be honest, we quickly find comfort in the new concept being offered here: a Sunday lunch like at Grandma's, to be devoured every evening in a genuine "urban guest table."

An unbeatable value for money
On the menu at Trop Plein, and like often with Jean Covillault, there’s a big friendly table where you'll pass around generous dishes, just like at home. This time, for the modest sum of €34, you can enjoy this unique menu: all kinds of aperitifs, an abundance of starters, hearty main courses with sides, cheese platter, and a dessert cart to finish off beautifully. And even if you might need to add a few coins to wash it all down, it still feels perfectly affordable. To take part, the chef invites you from October 22 to March 28, every evening from Wednesday to Saturday. And be careful, here it’s just like grandma's place: aperitif starts at 7:30 PM, and the dinner bell rings at 8:30 PM, without waiting.latecomers!
