Ottolenghi releases a new cookbook about comfort food

A few months ago, Ottolenghi had Parisians in a frenzy by teasing the upcoming opening of his first restaurant in the capital. And now, he delights us even more by unveiling a new project: a recipe book. But after vegetables and herbs, what will be his flagship this time? The answer is simple: highlighting comforting cuisine. 1000 times comfort Comfort. That is the title of this new opus, leaving little doubt about the content of the book. In this new collection, Ottolenghi, accompanied by chefs Helen Goh, Verena Lochmuller, and Tara Wigley, has imagined over 100 new dishes to celebrate food and intimacy.

Recipes that are both familiar and unique, nostalgic and modern. By putting his own twist on all the classics of comfort food, the chef takes us on a familiar path to a surprising destination. For example, a simple pasta dish is transformed here with caramelized onions, roasted hazelnuts, and fried sage leaves. And a seemingly basic mashed potatoes becomes aligot with garlic and leeks roasted with thyme.


An intimate and universal book

By drawing on their memories of cooking, as well as travel or family experiences, our 4 friends create a collection of recipes that will speak to everyone. Mac'n'cheese, roast chicken, bangers and mash, dhal, ramen, pizza... Everyone can find their own little piece of nostalgia here, or their ultimate go-to comfort food, reimagined in Ottolenghi style.
