Two Parisian gourmet grocery stores among the top five in France

For the 5th time, the verdict of the Quintessences has just been announced. Every year, this competition organized by Gourmet Selection rewards the 5 best delicatessens in France. And this year, two establishments in the capital city were distinguished by the jury. So, where should you go shopping next? We're here to tell you all about it.

Led by culinary critic Emmanuelle Jary, the committee of this 2024 edition of the Quintessences has decided to salute the quality of two Parisian establishments. A way for the association to reward the commitment of the grocers, their willingness to always offer quality products, while providing real proximity with customers. Located in the 7th and 14th, the two awarded grocery stores today each have their own identity, which has even earned one of them to secure the second place on the podium! Vive le poisson! Among the 15 initial nominees, the first Parisian address to stand out is the Rose & Pearl grocery store, located in the 7th. This small shop of 6.5m² has managed to secure a place.Silver medal thanks to a very wide selection of smoked fish and caviar. At reasonable prices, Jean-Philippe Chillet offers products from sustainable fishing, to benefit both customers and the planet. And as good news never comes alone, you can also find an excellent selection of wine there. Especially wines that are not found on every street corner in the capital. There, you will discover, for example, many Corsican wines, specialties of the house. A small establishment that charmed the jury with the quality and rarity of its products, as well as the intimacy and warmth of its premises.
