The first butter bar in Paris has opened in the 15th!

Just a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower, a real treasure trove opened its doors in the capital on July 7th. An unprecedented grocery store, entirely dedicated to one single product: butter. Come along as we explore this absolutely unique spot, and most importantly, incredibly delicious!

If Brittany is considered by many the best region in France, it's mainly because it boasts one of the greatest things in the world as its emblem: butter (salted, please, otherwise it's heresy). A culinary marvel that has conquered the entire planet and now, for the first time in Paris, has its very own 100% dedicated shop: The Butter Shop.


The Butter Frenzy

A few weeks ago, Erwan (because yes, to open a butter bar, it's a requirement to have a Breton name) opened the very first 100% butter shop in Paris. And he surely had a good instinct. It must be said that not only does this  specialty from our region absolutely... delicious, but it also sparks fascination around the globe, especially since big names like Bordier have decided to offer this wonder in all sorts of flavors. So much so that the Great Épicerie has notably seen a 300% increase in sales over the last two years.


Paradise or Heresy?

With this in mind, Erwan has decided to celebrate these bars of pleasure in a space that is dedicated to them from A to Z. Here, you’ll find butter in all its forms, ranging from “classic” flavors (pepper, shallots, seaweed) to tastes that might just ruffle the feathers of the Bretons (chocolate, raspberry, vanilla). And they are undeniably delicious, if I may say so. To help you choose from the delightful selection, you can rely on a tasting, as well as information about each carefully selected producer.


A Carefully Crafted Service

Well, we may have stretched the truth a bit, because while the address offers around thirty varieties of butter, available in different formats, you can also find other fine French grocery products, along with ready-made picnic baskets that are perfect for enjoying a summer lunch at the nearby Champ-de-Mars. And of course, while many Parisians are already indulging in this shop, it also caters to tourists, who are abundant in the neighborhood, and offers a vacuum sealing service, and even delivery directly to your hotel! Well, we’ll leave you now; we need to go on a grease raid.
