As the beautiful days slowly start to peek out in the capital, open-air events are popping up as quickly as cherry blossoms. Among them, this delightful spot where art, music, gastronomy, mixology, and good vibes come together returns for a third edition that promises to be extremely tasty. At the foot of the BnF, the temporary terrace PLAT/FORM, a 500 m² space opens its doors on April 29, and it's already shaping up to be amazing!
A committed cultural space, a lively restaurant, a temporary terrace… At PLAT/FORM, everything coexists, from lunch until late at night. More than just a restaurant, it’s a hybrid space blending cuisine, music, and contemporary creation, where you can enjoy the lovely days in Paris. What’s on the agenda? A bistro by the Seine with a friendly counter and a terrace that can accommodate up to 250 guests; a musical lineup featuring free open-air events all summer long; festive and culinary events, from Gastronomic Get-Togethers to barbecues; and more!a scene of committed artists curated by Quai 36 with abundant residencies and street art.
A gastronomic guinguette by the water
On the culinary side, after welcoming Alexandre Marchon and then Chloé Charles, PLAT/FORM is starting a new gastronomic chapter for this edition and entrusts its kitchens to Romain Bréchignac. A renowned chef – having worked at the Royal Meurice, as sous-chef at Alain Ducasse's Meurice, and also at Hotels Amour and Club Cochon – he is eager to share a generous and accessible bistro-style cuisine. For this residency, you can look forward to a lunch menu for 21€, featuring a weekly set dish, where you might find crunchy fennel Tonnato, spicy mussels, or the signature Brechi-burger, among other delights.

In the evening, both sea-inspired and meaty dishes grace the menu, featuring roasted octopus on a zaatar beetroot tagine, Caesar sauce veal tartare, green gnocchi with peas and goat cheese, and for dessert, a creamy sundae topped with house-made goodies. But that’s not all! PLAT/FORM also delights Parisians with its self-service casual counter. Here, sharing is the name of the game in a dining aperitif atmosphere, with homemade dips (tarama, hummus, tapenade), boards of AOP charcuterie and cheese, a selection of signature pizzas, and a seafood platter for enjoying a nice iodine shot by the water.

On the bar side, PLAT/FORM offers a plethora of creations to sip while facing the Seine, featuring unique wines from committed winemakers and original cocktails. On the menu? Original twists like the Pomme d’Amour, along with reimagined classics like the Cosmopolitan.

But what will truly bring the guinguette to life is, of course, its festive nights with open-air events and 100% free DJ sets planned for the whole summer! Local and international artists, along with resident collectives, will take turns at the decks to make PLAT/FORM the must-visit spot for sunny days, where you can dance outdoors without breaking the bank. And the cherry on top? The place also promises some delightful surprises.s festive gatherings you can’t miss, like the Gastronomic Parties (two Saturdays a month) featuring a themed menu and DJ sets, of course.
