Here's a record that the French can be proud of. On May 5, 2024, an official delegation from the Guinness will travel to Suresnes, as the National Confederation of French Bakery-Pastry, in association with the Paris Bakers' Union, will attempt to break a new world record by making a baguette of over 132.62 meters!

In just a few weeks, you are invited to an absolutely incredible event. 12 bakers, including 5 from Suresnes, will attempt the impossible by baking a baguette of unimaginable size to set a new record. If they succeed, it will be taller than the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower. Now that's something to think about.

To achieve this result, they will have to knead kilos and kilos of bread dough, before baking a huge loaf, at least 5 cm thick along the entire length. And to complete such a feat, they will use in front of the audience (hopefully a large crowd) a rolling oven under a tent, for a total baking time of 8 hours.
A moment of sharing
Once the bread is baked, and presented for approval by the Guinness World Record, a portion of this magical baguette will be cut, spread with Nutella (also a partner of the event), and shared with the public. The rest will also be cut into pieces, and distributed during the event. It's a night outreach organized by the association Celije in Suresnes. An excellent way to combine usefulness with pleasure.
So, it's a unique, even historic event that awaits us on May 5, which represents both all the know-how and traditions.French culinary tradition (bread, it's life), but also our limitless spirit of competition.
