The Editor

Aah, Amiens. Its cathedral, its hortillonnages, its tributes to Jules Verne, and its famous Trogneux chocolate shop. A true Picard institution, known and loved for its incredible chocolates and to-die-for macarons. But did you know that this shop is also connected to the First Lady of France? That's right—Trogneux is none other than… the maiden name of Brigitte Macron! Her great-grandfather, Jean-Baptiste, founded the chocolate shop in 1872. And for the greatest delight of sweet lovers, it's finally coming to Paris!

A Strategic Opening

If you frequently stroll along rue des Martyrs, you've probably noticed recently a window under construction, announcing the upcoming opening of Maison Trogneux right in the heart of the capital. A celebration for the brand that is worthy of recognition.

cute; has 9 boutiques (including 4 in Amiens) and is set to open a tenth in the streets of the capital as early as April 2025. Right at the time of Easter. And while we’re quite inclined to believe in coincidences, you can’t convince us here that this date wasn’t chosen just right, wholeheartedly by Jean-Baptiste, the current manager of the house and 6th generation of Trogneux to take on this role.

Delicious Treats to Make You Swoon

When you visit, you'll get to discover the entire range of chocolates from this delightful establishment, especially known for its creations in tribute to the various monuments of its hometown: the cathedral, the Perret tower, and even Jules Verne (because he's a monument too, not of stone, but of literature!). But beyond the chocolates, we highly recommend making the trip just to sample their macarons, Amiens specialties that are halfway between the macarons we know and financiers. A little almond cuddle that's wonderfully soft, and there's even a chocolate version! It's truly a must-try that could help this place stand out among the competition. And who knows, you might even run into Brigitte and congratulate her on her performance in Emily in Paris!
