The PETA association has awarded its annual Vegan Flavors prize, and in 2026, it's Albedo Kitchen, the plant-based cafeteria in downtown Lille, that stood out!

Looking for your next plant-based gem? Great news: PETA has just awarded the Vegan Flavor Awards 2026 and named the best vegan restaurant in France. Unfortunately for Paris, it didn't make the top list this year, as the best plant-based spot in the Hexagon is in Lille. The good news is that the city is just a short train ride away, and you can enjoy these healthy bowls in under an hour!


The Best Vegan Restaurant in France

A distinction that highlights the most creative and delicious plant-based restaurants and products of the moment, the Vegan Flavor Award goes this year to Albedo Kitchen, located on Rue Léon-Gambetta in the heart of Lille. Behind this project? A dedicated couple, Diane and Lewis – with the latter having grown up...in a vegetarian and vegan family. It was during their travels around the world that the duo realized how behind France was in terms of plant-based cuisine. So they decided to create a place that reflects them in Lille, embodying their values, and envisioned a restaurant that combines plant-based gastronomy, culinary creativity, and ecological commitment.


Plants at the Heart of the Project

Here, we serve up colorful bowls and small shareable plates that please everyone. No meat imitations or fancy gimmicks here: the dishes explore the full potential of vegetables, grains, and legumes, offering a vegan cuisine that is both accessible and delicious. Of course, everything is prepared with organic, seasonal products sourced mostly from local suppliers, all combined with cooking techniques that preserve the quality of the plants.
