In Paris, the quest for the best in bakery goods is never-ending. On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the 2025 edition of the "Best traditional French baguette of Greater Paris" competition took place in front of the Notre-Dame Cathedral as part of the Festival of Bread. Artisans from all corners of the region were there to take part.

A baker from Clamart is the big winner of this edition
Drumroll, please… It’s Baptiste Fourmont, 26 years old, from the bakery Des Racines et du Pain, located at 1, place du Panorama in Clamart, who has taken first place in this competition. In 2020, this talented young man also won the award for best organic bread in Brittany, and in 2024, he achieved fourth place in the regional contest organized by the Bakers of Greater Paris. His victory last Sunday at the Notre-Dame forecourt is just the continuation of a journey of excellence for this young artisan baker.

On Saturday, May 3rd, the "Best Traditional French Baguette of Île-de-France - Grande Couronne" was also awarded. The winner is Zouhair Byadi from the Ferry bakery in Meulan-sur-Yvelines.
