As the proverb goes, never 6 without 7. So it is for the seventh consecutive year that the French chef wins this more than honorary title thanks to his restaurant located quai de Conti. A quite surprising victory (but well-deserved), since the establishment had lost its third Michelin star earlier this year.

A popular price

A surprising result, and yet, the people have spoken. Since 2015, it is indeed they who, partly determine this ranking based on all the reviews and opinions, whether professional or not, issued throughout the year. Everything is then classified by algorithm, and at least we can be sure that the objectivity is indisputable.

It would seem, therefore, that even if the experts of the most famous culinary guide in the world did not appreciate Guy Savoy's culinary evolution, his other clients, however, thoroughly enjoyed it, and did not hesitate to make it known. One can imagine the chef being happy, of course, and especially relieved to know that he is still in the game. " I had a sympathy capital. Now I know that I have a love capital " he declared to Ouest-France. Isn't that cute...

A place worth its weight in gold

But this first place on the podium, achieved with a score of 99.5 out of 100, is not occupied by the Parisian restaurant alone. In fact, there are a total of 7 establishments that have achieved the same result, and therefore share this ultimate honor of being named the best restaurant in the world. Fortunately, France is well represented as we find another French chef in the leading position. It is Arnaud Donckele, and his restaurant La Vague d'Or - Cheval Blanc in Saint-Tropez.

Other Parisian establishments have also stood out, including L'Ambroisie, located in the 4th arrondissement, Plénitude, another restaurant by Donckele, in the 1st arrondissement, and The Peninsula, in the 16th arrondissement, recognized for its pastry.. Also worth noting in the ranking is the presence of Chloé Charles, former candidate of Top Chef, who wins the ranking for ethical and environmental responsibility with her concept Lago.
