Last week, on the forecourt of Notre-Dame, the famous Fête du Pain took place. An incredible gathering that fills the center of Paris each year with aromas of butter and fresh baguettes. And what better setting than this to reward every year the best butter croissant AOP from Poitou-Charentes in Greater Paris (yes, the title is quite specific)! It's a great opportunity for all Parisians to discover where to find the most mouthwatering pastry in the capital. And this year, it’s La Parisienne, in the 10th district, that won the crown for the City of Light!
A bakery crowned with success
What makes a good croissant? A beautiful golden color, a delightful flaky texture, and a taste that simply melts in your mouth!
Well crispy layers, and above all, there’s no secret, butter, butter, and more butter. Quite simple criteria that many artisans in the capital follow to the letter. However, after a tasting that you might imagine to be absolutely horrible (that's not true), the verdict was delivered on May 6th, and one of them stands above the rest: La Parisienne, especially the location in the 10th district.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
This Bread Festival 2025 has been all about excellence for baker Mickaël Reydellet, as he also snagged the title of best traditional baguette of the year on May 7. What an amazing honor for the artisan, who last week became the ultimate GOAT of the Paris bakery game, with no competition in sight.
The Greater Paris and the Left Bank in Full Swing
However, while we can only congratulate Mickaël Reydellet and his Parisian bakery empire, it’s important to put things in context, as the award was for the Greater Paris, bringing together bakeries from the 75, but also from the 92, 93, and 94. And the big winner of this 2025 edition is actually… in Clamart, in front of La Parisienne. It’s the Bakery Des racines et du pain, located in the 92, was also crowned during the Bread Festival for... the Award for the Best Baguette of Grand Paris 2025! It seems that baguettes and croissants are meant to go together this year!
