Like every year, food critic Gilles Pudlowski took on the hefty task of testing as many Parisian bistros as possible to identify the best among them. This long-term investigation allowed him to create a list of the 150 best establishments in the capital. However, despite the merit of each one, one stands out particularly: La Grille Montorgueil.

Awards Galore

The name of this restaurant may ring a bell. And for good reason, a few months ago, we brought you delightful news: Grille Montorgueil had won the Best Pot Award 2024. It seems that the fame is here to stay, as a brand new distinction has been added to the establishment’s accolades, thanks to the Best Bistro of the Year 2024 award.

2025, awarded by Gilles Pudlowski.

According to the critic, the restaurant has stood out thanks to its love for local cuisine and its typical, comforting bistro plates. A charming place that is over 120 years old, where you can savor delicious brie croque-monsieur and must-try œufs mayo, or even a magical sausage-aligot, which pays tribute to the Aveyron roots of the owner, Laurent Nègre. All this is paired with an exceptional selection of wines, which you can enjoy right at the zinc counter, the oldest in Paris.

A bunch of fantastic restaurants

But La Grille Montorgueil isn’t the only place chosen by the critic, who has also awarded 6 other establishments this year. For example, Aux Lyonnais, owned by Alain Ducasse and located in the 2nd arrondissement, received the title of chef of the year thanks to Victoria Boller. At Guersant in the 17th, owners Nicolas Gounse and Romain Gastel earned the title of Young Bistro Owners of the Year. The Sully (4th), winner of the Coupe au Pot 2023, received the Transmission Trophy.

In the Sancerre Rive-Gauche (7th), Gilles Pudlowski enjoyed the warm welcome and friendliness. The teams at Chantefable in the 20th can be proud of winning the art of living and tradition award. And last but not least, Quedubon (19th) has received the Canaille Bistro Trophy. There you go, that gives you some addresses to try out in the upcoming weeks!
