It's the little last one from the big family of culinary contests dedicated to bakeries. Set up by the Union of Bakers of Greater Paris two years ago, this incredibly delicious competition aims to find us the best spots for a quality quick lunch. For this third edition, 41 candidates from all over the Parisian region competed against each other, until only one was left standing. And one thing is for sure, the Parisian artisans have not disappointed, with 5 addresses in the top 10, including the first and second places.
An incredible sandwich within reach of the metro
For this 2026 edition, let's give a big round of applause to the boulangerie Pépite, located in the 11th, which has received honors from the Bakery Union of Greater Paris. A spectacular comeback, since the address was in 10th place last year, achieved thanks to the official presentation of 9 individual sandwiches, including 3 identical meat sandwiches, 3 identical fish sandwiches, and finally 3 identical vegetarian sandwiches.

Each of these pieces has been touched and then tasted to judge the quality of the bread, but also the toppings, in order to choose the very best, and, clearly, these special creations have managed to stand out. The good news in all this is that for us lucky residents of the capital, the bakery is just a quick metro ride away, halfway between Place Léon Blum (more commonly known by its cute nickname, Place Voltaire) and Nation.
Paris in pole position in the top 10
And for those who don't live in the eastern part of Paris or might feel a bit lazy to take the metro for a sandwich, don’t worry, because the capital is bursting with 4 other gems, also celebrated in the top 10. In second place, we find Les Délices Saint-Martin in the 4th, followed by Boulangerie Paris & Co (15th) at 6th place and l’Atelier Jussieu (5th) at 7th place. Finally, it’s the Levain des Pyrénées, in the 20th, that wraps up the Parisian rankings by snagging a wonderful 9th place! With all that, you have plenty of options for your lunch breaks next week!
