The exciting world of gastronomy gathered in Las Vegas, United States on Wednesday, June 5th to choose the best restaurants in the world at the 22nd edition of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. And this year, Disfrutar, run by the trio of chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas in Barcelona, was awarded the top spot. Moving up from 2nd place last year, this restaurant in the Eixample district wowed diners with its brilliantly imaginative dishes, unmatched technical skills, and playful presentations that create a culinary experience you'll never forget, full of surprises and lasting memories. Taking over from the 2023 winner, Central by Pía León and Virgilio Martinez in Lima, is Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, by Basque chef Bittor Arguinzoniz in 2nd place. And a special surprise in 3rd place is the Parisian restaurant, Table de Bruno Verjus. Self-taught chef, 64-year-old Bruno Verjus was able to seduce the jury for a second time thanks to his humble cuisine that magnifies always well-sourced products. A reward that is not surprising at all when you know that the restaurant is part of the (short) list of Parisian restaurants that have received 2 stars in the Michelin guide.


4 Parisian restaurants in Paris Worth Visiting

In regards to the rest of the ranking, 4 other Parisian restaurants have also been recognized by the World's 50 Best Restaurants. Landing in 11th place is the timeless Septime by Valentin Burteaux and Bertrand Grébaut, jumping up an impressive 13 spots from last year. Plénitude by Arnaud Donckele, a 3 Michelin star establishment, soared from 36th to the 18th position in 2023. This restaurant, situated on the 1st floor of Samaritaine, also claimed the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award for 2024, a celebration of exceptional service. The last one is cute. In addition to Paris, three other French addresses have been elected among the top 100 best restaurants: Le Doyenné (70th) located in Saint-Vrain.In Essonne, La Grenouillère (77th) is located in La Madeleine-sous-Montreuil, in Pas-de-Calais, and finally Ceto (85th) is located in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, near Nice.
