It's undoubtedly one of the most luxurious neighborhoods in the capital. Bordered by the avenues of Champs-Élysées, George-V, and Montaigne, this unique Parisian spot is famous for its high fashion boutiques, its abundance of palaces, and the valets standing by all day to assist clients, each more affluent than the last. However, while the Golden Triangle makes tourists sparkle with delight from around the world, it still lacks a touch of modernity, something the District Town Hall is determined to address as soon as possible.
A neighborhood to bring back to life
When you stroll through the 8th, around the streets of Marbeuf, François Ier, or avenue Montaigne, it's impossible not to be somewhat dazzled by these Haussmannian buildings.
hundreds of them and their unmistakable stone. However, very quickly, several observations become clear. First, the cars (most often large SUVs from the latest generation) speed, really speed on the cobblestones that are not very cyclist-friendly. And these drivers don’t hesitate to park anywhere and anyhow, just like their motorbike colleagues. Then, pedestrians are often forced to step onto the roadway due to narrow sidewalks, which are blocked by construction. Finally, the whole area is crying out, absolutely crying out, for greenery. These little details might seem insignificant, yet today, they are part of some of the major challenges faced by the City of Paris' policies. And luckily, thanks to the municipal approach"Beautify your neighborhood," the 8th District City Hall certainly has the means to address all of that.Plantation d’arbres, trottoirs élargis… À Paris, le Triangle d’or à l’aube d’une « grande transformation »

A Transformation Like Many Others
Indeed, to make these changes happen, Jeanne d'Hauteserre, the mayor of the district, is receiving 5.5 million euros in funding. That's quite a sum, allowing her to implement various measures, selected from hundreds of projects after a year of discussions and meetings with top officials in the system. The overall idea is simple: to make the streets more pleasant and more "lovable." To achieve this, the sidewalks will be widened on rue Quentin-Bauchard and at place François-Ier. Over 50 trees accompanied by low vegetation will be planted in these two areas, as well as along the streets François-Ier and Marbeuf. A street Schools will be established on Christophe-Colomb Street to ensure more safety for the youngest. Finally, new two-way bike lanes will be installed in all the streets within the triangle defined by Montaigne Avenue, Georges Pompidou road, and the back of the Grand Palais. This almost makes us want to take a trip to the 8th after all!
