Have you spotted some suspicious behavior in your building or neighborhood? Now you have the chance to protect yourself and your neighbors by launching an alert. The program is called « Vigilant and Solidary Neighbors ». With just one click, the app allows you to communicate almost instantly with the authorities to report a problem. In Paris, the 15th is the first district to adopt this program, as highlighted by our friends from the Parisien.

An app to look out for your neighbors

In 2010, the platform “Vigilant and Caring Neighbors” was born. Today, it brings together a wonderful community of four million French people and 1000 partner municipalities. The aim: to look out for one another, just as the app's slogan says. It's especially used to ensure everyone's safety, combat incivilities, fraud, burglaries, and even environmental issues. Plus, it can send out weather alerts, notify you about neighborhood events, or report lost and found items. Every citizen who joins can make a report and get in touch with local authorities like the town hall or the police. From this...this way, neighbors ensure the safety of their neighborhood and, by extension, their city.

An initiative that promotes safety and solidarity

When someone posts a report, neighbors automatically receive a notification on their phone so they can be informed in real-time about the issue. « The latest version includes geolocation and live alerts», says Frédéric de Lanouvelle, the deputy director of the program, to the Parisien. Implemented in the 15th arrondissement, the program has already been adopted by about a hundred households and « 40% of alerts are messages of solidarity, like the loss of a pet », adds the deputy director. It seems like there might be a little mix-up in your message, as it doesn't contain any text to translate. If you could provide the content you'd like translated, I'd be more than happy to help!
