Have you ever found yourself lost in daydreams while staring at the listings in a real estate agency window? Envisioning your perfect life in a stunning 300 m² apartment with views of the Tuileries garden? Turns out, you're not the only one! This infatuation actually has a name: real estate pornography.

Real Estate Porn, a Seductive Concept

Here is an astonishing trend that more and more real estate professionals are encountering. There is a growing passion among people for extraordinary properties, with more followers than we realize, and it comes in various forms, sometimes even a bit surprising.

"Real estate porn" encompasses a range of behaviors that can sometimes verge on obsession. This includes endlessly browsing through property listings on dedicated websites, visiting properties frequently without any intention of buying, and downloading location photos in bulk. These activities may seem surprising, but they are actually quite common!

According to the website Se Loger, 70% of French people admit to visiting apartments or houses just for fun, and 2 out of 10 individuals do it regularly, particularly among the 18-34 age group. Given the high prices of real estate in Paris, it's no wonder that some people indulge themselves by dreaming away in a larger space for a few hours.

TV Shows at Stake

Hey there! Want to know why real estate is such a big deal these days? Well, it all started with popular TV shows like D&co, House Hunting and Selling Houses that have been around since the early 2000s.

But the latest buzz is all about The Agency, a show on TMC and Netflix. It follows the Kretz family, a real estate dynasty dealing with ultra-luxury properties (think million-dollar budgets).

And it's not just TV - social media is also in on the game! In fact, 62% of French people are checking out real estate content on their feeds. Some agents are leveraging this trend to attract clients, while others are...well, let's just say they're not so impressed.

Let's lament it and be more selective in our pre-visit interviews. So we'll keep dreaming in front of our screen then... 🌟💻🌟 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
