Just one year ago, in last November, the development of the future line 15 of the network and the plans for the Grand Paris Express took a huge leap forward. After more than 8 years of projects and construction, the first metros were finally running on those tracks. Unfortunately for all the Franciliens eagerly awaiting this revolution, it was just a test. As for the serious stuff, it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer.

“How much of a delay?”

Next year, likely at the end of the year, it won’t be operational before mid-2026, as summer has been announced as the new target.

A delay due to technical problems encountered during the line trials. « The execution of these trials is complex. There are a number of calibrations and interactions for the automatons that take longer than expected », declared Bernard Cathelain, a member of the Society of Great Projects overseeing the site. The openings of lines 16 and 17, on the other hand, are still announced for the end of 2026. Allow us to have some doubts.
