The Editor

It’s no secret that for a few years now, student precariousness has been touching more and more people across France, especially in the capital. In 2024, nearly 20% of young people studying reported not eating enough. To combat this situation, the École du Louvre, specialized in art history, archaeology, epigraphy, anthropology, and museology, has decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign, to allow all its students to fully dedicate themselves to their education.

Equal Opportunities

What if paintings weren't the only ones needing a little push in the art world? That's exactly what The Louvre School is advocating, having launched a big support initiative since the end of April to help students in need. The idea is simple: « restore the living conditions » of a third of the students of the institution, who are currently in a precarious situation.

What's causing this? The never-ending rise in housing prices and the cost of living overall, which often forces students to juggle multiple part-time jobs alongside their studies, and sometimes even go without essential things, like meals, to prioritize their learning. It's a dramatic situation, and the École du Louvre is determined to put an end to it by providing students in difficulty with the necessary funds so they can focus on their studies.

Now it’s your turn

In recent years, the École du Louvre has already implemented a number of measures to combat the financial fragility of some – including an increase in the percentage of…Scholarships, inauguration of a Student House… – the ever-increasing cost of student life is pushing them today to go even further, by seeking your help through this crowdfunding campaign on Ulule. And while the first goal of €50,000 has already been reached, the fight continues to reach €150,000.

A lovely amount that will help to unlock new emergency aid (between 5 and 10 per year, each worth 350€, to address life's emergencies and surprises), as well as housing assistance scholarships, worth 400€ per student. And if you still need a little motivation, know that donations are tax-deductible, and that potential donors can enjoy unique rewards, such as exclusive tickets to the Grand Conferences at the Louvre or priority reservations for courses.
