The Editor

Highlighting the differences and legacies of everyone through dance is the mission that Maud Le Pladec has embraced with her show Silent Legacy. On stage, two soloists from different ages and backgrounds deliver a dazzling performance filled with truth, tenderness, and inspiration.

This captivating show was first unveiled over a year ago at the Carreau du Temple, before embarking on an international tour. The good news? You'll have the chance to see this show one last time in the same venue, on January 28 and 29

Silent Legacy, last dates in Paris

She has choreographed the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, she is the director of CCN – Ballet de Lorraine, and she continues to delight audiences in some of the world's most beautiful theaters. Maud Le Pladec never fails to impress us with each new creation. But this time, we wanted to talk about Silent Legacy,

a dancing gem that wraps up its French tour at the end of January in Paris. With a soundtrack by DJ Chloé featuring very electro vibes, we discover two soloists who deconstruct social and choreographic norms, blending krump sequences showcased by an absolutely astounding 10-year-old girl, and contemporary dance with an equally incredible dancer.

A story of heritage told through two captivating dance solos

The show kicks off with Adeline Kerry Cruz, a young krump prodigy at just 10 years old. She lives and grows up in Montreal, far from the ghettos that birthed this dance in the 2000s. With her rapid movements and intense facial expressions, krump expresses both the anger tied to racial and social injustice and the spiritual aspiration of everyone. Accompanied by her mentor and krump pro Jr Maddripp, Adeline delivers an explosive and striking performance that lingers in our memories even a year later.

In the second part, the elegant Audrey Merilus performs a contemporary choreography that is both gentle and powerful, created this time with the dancer Siaska Chareyre. She highlights the personality and journey of the dancers, showcasing their unique stories and emotions.

and the interpreter whose technique is constantly evolving.

Together, these two solos perfectly express the universality of dance and the sharing of heritage. Dive in with your eyes shut!
