If you've ever held the novel Pride and Prejudice in your hands, you surely remember the five Bennet sisters, their parents, and the rich and charming Mr. Darcy. But just imagine for a moment seeing the famous story by British writer Jane Austen parodied on stage, with humor and whimsy! From January 24, 2025, the play Pride and Prejudice… or almost will be gracing the stage at the Théâtre Saint-Georges, adding a delightful touch of British charm and 100% feminine flair to the French capital. Directed by Johanna Boyé, this show has been adapted into French by Virginie Hocq and Jean-Marc Victor from the original play Pride and Prejudice (sort of) by Isobel McArthur.

A Parody of the Story of Jane Austen
Freely inspired by the work of 1813, the play takes on the tale of Jane Austen… with a few little twists! We follow the lives of the five Bennett sisters and their mother, who has just one goal: to marry off her daughters. This time, however, the story is told from the perspective of the servants, who aren’t shy about discussing their mistresses' future with humor and irony. The journey begins immediately: we find ourselves in 19th-century England, right in the heart of the daily lives of these young women and the men who surround them!
