For 6 days, the talented Benjamin Millepied, moving far away this time from the restrictions sometimes imposed by classical dance, presents us with an extraordinary work that beautifully blends the sublime songs and smooth voice of Jeff Buckley with graceful choreography, performed perfectly by 10 talented dancers. It's a fantastic deep dive into the universe of two geniuses brought together on stage for a unique experience.

On stage, complete darkness. Some enchanting guitar notes, and a light that gradually comes on behind a window, introducing us one by one to the ten dancers who are ready to take us on a journey through the tumultuous life of Jeff Buckley. Then, suddenly, the rich and powerful voice of the singer fills the air...

From this moment on, the danced scenes follow one another, always supported by the songs of the American artist, interspersed with texts, images, and videos. Sadness, nostalgia, joy, and even determination, the performers deliver a range of raw emotions that captivate us from beginning to end. The choreography is masterfully controlled from start to finish, offering us a sumptuous declaration of love and admiration from Benjamin Millepied for Jeff Buckley.
Art in All Its Forms
For 2 hours and 45 minutes, we let ourselves be carried away by enchanting melodies, lyrics that everyone can relate to, as well as archival images and texts from the musician's own journals. The choreographer plays with...sparkling with the lights, the decorations, and the costumes to unveil a unique personality, driven by a will to live, and a constant quest for perfection and the absolute.

The dancers twirl, spin, brush against each other, and face off, right before our eyes or in front of a moving camera that broadcasts live images onto a giant screen above the stage. Solo, duet, or group performances express all the facets of an artist marked by loneliness, but also by passion. Notably, we’ll remember the masterful performance by Loup Marcault-Derouard, who powerfully interprets Jeff Buckley and gives life to the artist's sublime songs.
A show of infinite sweetness, of absolute poetry, that hugs as much as it breaks, that lifts you up as much as it pierces you, where every detail celebrates the immense and terribly underappreciated talent of a singer with an unmatchable voice and a life far too short. And one thing is absolutely c .certainly, we come away touched by grace.
