Great classics and new creations, a magnificent 2025/2026 season at the Paris Opera!

Whether under the golden decor of the Palais Garnier or in the modern vibe of the Opéra Bastille, the Opéra national de Paris is ready to dazzle us for the 2025/2026 season! From the classics of the repertoire that we can all hum along to the greatest tunes to bold and unforgettable new creations, get ready for magical evenings with no less than 364 curtain rises planned throughout the season. Composers like Giuseppe Verdi, Philip Glass, and Georges Bizet, along with choreographers such as Micaela Taylor, Trisha Brown, and Clairemarie Osta, this new year is sure to be filled with surprises and memorable moments. And since reservations open as early as June, we’re excited to give you a sneak peek at some must-see works of the season!


Shows to Book Starting in June 

Get ready, because even though the 2025/2026 season feels like a while away, reservations for many shows will start on June 3rd. If you love ballet or have always dreamed of seeing one, you won't want to miss Giselle, the famous classic by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, kicking off the season at the Palais Garnier from September 28 to October 31, 2025. On the same day, you'll also be able to grab your tickets for La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini, hitting the stage at the Opéra Bastille from September 12 to October 14, 2025, or the exciting new production of Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, at the Opéra Bastille from September 24 to November 4, 2025. A show that is truly feminist which...I resonate strongly with current events and it is brought to life by Shirin Neshat.

On June 17, 2025, you will be able to enjoy some performances that can be described as absolute classics. In the opera world, we will have The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Palais Garnier from November 15 to December 27. Plus, don’t miss Tosca, the iconic work by Giacomo Puccini, at the Opéra Bastille from November 23 to December 27, 2025. On the ballet side, we highly recommend you don’t miss Notre-Dame de Paris at the Opéra Bastille from December 6 to 31, 2025. This performance will be choreographed by Roland Petit and promises to deliver an unforgettable moment, set to the famous story by Victor Hugo, the music of Maurice Jarre, and costumes designed by Yves Saint Laurent.


Reinventing Classic Works

Whether they're from the 18th, 19th, or 20th century, the masterpieces classics presented during the 2025/2026 season of the Opéra de Paris will be plentiful. The beginning of 2026 will be highlighted by the unbeatable Carmen by Georges Bizet at the Opéra Bastille from February 7 to March 19. Guillaume Gallienne will direct La Cenerentola by Gioachino Rossini at the Palais Garnier from June 3 to July 11, 2026, before the season beautifully closes with the timeless Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi at the Opéra Bastille from June 4 to July 13, 2026.

Seven new productions will also be offered to the general public with a goal:  to broaden horizons by welcoming artists from all corners of the globe, of all backgrounds. Among them is Eugène Onéguine by Tchaikovsky, an opera staged by Ralph Fiennes at the Palais Garnier from January 26 to February 27, 2026. A first for the actor and director, widely known for his role as Voldemort in Harry Potter, and more recently in Conclave. 


Dancing between tradition and modernity

In the world of danceOnce again, the season will showcase a dialogue between new creations and classic works. The new productions will explore different themes: Roots, Contrasts, and Vibrations. From October 6 to November 10, 2025, Rhapsodies by Mthuthuzeli November, under the theme Roots, will resonate at the Opéra Bastille. Trisha Brown will take over the stage at the Palais Garnier from December 1 to 31, 2025, with her ballet If You Couldn't See Me, under the theme Contrasts.

To the reimagined music of Vivaldi by Max Richter, The Seasons' Canon by Crystal Pite, themed around Vibrations, will be enchanting audiences at the Palais Garnier from June 27 to July 14, 2026. Timeless classics will also play a vital role. Romeo and Juliet by Rudolf Nureyev will grace the Opéra Bastille from April 2 to May 12, 2026, while The Lady of the Camellias will charm the Palais Garnier from May 5 to May 23, 2026. You've got it— the 2025/2026 season of the Opéra national de Paris is setting the bar high with moving, stunning, and captivating performances! So, which shows will you go see?
