« You are in Verona, the beautiful Verona, the city where everyone hates each other, we want to leave but we stay. » It was in 2001. The curtains of the Palais des Congrès opened to reveal the image of a city torn apart by the conflicts between the Montagues and the Capulets. 25 years later, this show, which undoubtedly holds a spot in the pantheon of our favorite musicals, is gearing up for its grand return. Even better, Damien Sargues will reprise his iconic role as Romeo. And even better still, ticket sales open tomorrow!

25 years ago, the whole world discovered Damien Sargue in the role of Romeo. An immediate crush, unfortunately not much maintained since the end of the French tour, the show (and its actor)

And even though we were thrilled to see the singer in the remake of Notre-Dame de Paris two years ago, nothing could have made us anticipate the burst of happiness we felt upon hearing the news: he is back! Indeed, starting December 3, 2027, the musical Romeo and Juliet: Love Never Dies— with a slightly changed name, but we accept it — will make its grand comeback on the stage of the Palais des Congrès, and nothing could make us happier!Voir cette publication sur Instagram
A 2.0 Version… But Not Too Much
For this new tour, we’re in for a reinvented version of the original show: a new cast, new costumes, new staging, all “rethought for today without ever touching the show’s DNA.” However, some elements will remain the same: the presence of Damien Sargue and his stage partner, Cécilia Cara, along with Gérard Presgurvic, the original composer of the musical, who will be back on the project. More information and cast members will be revealed bit by bit leading up to the show (in more than a year and a half, so there’s plenty of time). But in the meantime, watch out, ticket sales open this Saturday, February 14 at 10 AM! And honestly, we just can’t think of a better way to celebrate...taking their love for someone than just grabbing tickets…
