Attention all musical comedy lovers, fans of Christophe Maé and Emmanuel Moire, or really anyone who has good taste! To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Roi Soleil, the show created by Dove Attia and Kamel Ouali is making a grand comeback in 2025, and, surprise, one of the main actors will be part of it. How royal!

There are days when, unfortunately, bad news just keeps coming and everything seems off. Yet sometimes, all it takes is a little piece of information stumbled upon while browsing the internet for everything to brighten up and the sun to shine again. And for us today, this golden nugget of news is that Emmanuel Moire, the incredible king Louis XIV we still dream of (a little nod to "Tant qu’on rêve encore", for those in the know) will indeed be back on stage at the Dôme de Paris in a year. Joy!

It’s in an exclusive interview given to our colleagues at Le Parisien that the actor revealed the splendid surprise. While for weeks now, the Sun King's Insta account hasn’t shown any faces, the identity of Louis XIV himself has just been unveiled, and it’s the m&e.

the actor who, twenty years ago, will reprise his iconic role. A new project that is extremely symbolic for someone who now lives off his acting talents.

However, we could have never seen him in this role again (and that would have been such a shame). Still in the pages of Le Parisien, Emmanuel Moire shared that he had declined a few years ago to don the costume of the Sun King for the 15th anniversary. The project then fell through, due to a lack of a worthy actor to replace him. This time, however, with some reflection, the actor and singer feels ready to take on this role once again.


A comeback awaited like the Messiah

Needless to say, if this news is likely to delight fans, it could also put a little extra pressure on the shoulders of the performer of “Mon Essentiel”. If we compare, for instance, to the return of Daniel Lavoie in Notre-Dame de Paris.

, we're not quite sure we're very excited. But hey, we still want to believe in our national Manu, and think that he can “Live up to the challenge” (wink wink).

For the moment, though, there's nothing indicating that Christophe Maé will be back too. According to the most famous choreographer in the PAF (aka Kamel Ouali), the main priority was above all to regain the title role, the one and only King Sun. So, since the production hasn’t recontacted the singer of “Belle demoiselle”, the door isn’t completely closed, as the former teacher from Star Ac’ proclaimed « If they call us to say we’re going, we’re going ». Christophe, you know what you have to do, our happiness now rests on your shoulders.
