From Halloween to Christmas in Just a Few Seconds
Like every year since 2019, Mariah Carey publishes a video on YouTube on November 1st to mark the beginning of the festive season. 2026 was no exception: the diva appeared in a clip that begins on October 31st, in a New York bar, with dark décor worthy of Halloween. The singer rocks a grunge look, heavy makeup and performs the song “Hermit”, from a project recorded with the band Chick in the 1990s, titled Someone's Ugly Daughter. A clock shows the time and notably the transition from 11:59 p.m. to midnight. She then launches into the famous « It's tiiiime » and the atmosphere transforms to reveal a Mariah in a red and white bodysuit in a decor of ice, Christmas trees and gingerbread. And then? She sings an excerpt from her mythical song “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, of course.
A song that still brings in millions of dollars annually
In just a few hours, the video has accumulated 3.7 million views on YouTube. Released in 1994, the song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has since become a true Christmas anthem — and a consistent source of income
frequent for the singer. It's estimated that royalties would bring her between 2.5 and 3 million dollars each year. And if you're not quite feeling the festive spirit yet, head over starting November 12th to the XXL Christmas market that will open its doors at La Défense.
