Harry Potter: A Free Celebration at the Palace of Versailles for the Saga's 25th Anniversary!

Back in December 2001, Muggles everywhere discovered the film adaptation of the first Harry Potter installment at the cinema. A quarter of a century later, the Potterhead community is gearing up for a series of celebrations, including a one-of-a-kind evening—and best of all, completely free!—in the heart of one of the world's most beautiful castles—after Hogwarts, of course!

Harry Potter x Le Roi Soleil, now that's a crossover we didn't see coming. Yet in 2026, as the world's most famous bespectacled wizard prepares to celebrate his 25th birthday, the much-awaited Return to Hogwarts will take place in the heart of the Orangerie gardens, designed by Le Nôtre for the Palace of Versailles. Mark your calendars for August 29th to experience this show that promises to be truly exceptional. Better yet, new tickets are available: you can try to win some between August 18th and 20th through a participation link available on the Instagram accounts @warnerbrosfr and @harrypotterfr!


One extraordinary venue after another

After the g>sublime Sainte-Geneviève Library last year, which had already done things in grand style with a huge quiz and the presence of the French voice of Dolores Umbridge, it's the Palace of Versailles that will welcome this year magic enthusiasts, for a unique celebration evening. For the occasion, the venue will completely reimagine its famous Grandes Eaux Nocturnes event, to offer us an enchanting show.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, aspiring wizards will be able to enjoy various activities, including a group spell-casting lesson with Paul Harris, the choreographer of wand fights in several films, plus plenty of other surprises. For the occasion, the Orangerie will be completely decorated in the colors of the four houses, and the evening will feature an exclusive show paying tribute to the first film, specially created for this event with drones and spectacular lighting.


Celebrations galore

And while this day will undoubtedly be the highlight of 2026 for Potterheads across France, a number of other activities are expected in the coming months. Just recently, Harry Potter Book Nights took place (February 5-8). In the same vein

e, a cinema concert Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone will be organized at the Grand Rex in November. And the magic continues next year too, with the release of the HBO series. Plenty of reasons to fill up on magic !
