Harry Potter: a free celebration at the Château de Versailles for the 25th anniversary of the saga!

In December 2001, little Muggles all around the world discovered the adaptation of the first Harry Potter movie in theaters. A quarter of a century later, the Potterhead community is gearing up for a series of celebrations, including a unique evening that is 100% free, held in one of the most beautiful castles in the world — right after Hogwarts, of course!

Harry Potter x The Sun King, here’s a crossover we didn’t see coming! Yet, in 2026, while the world’s most famous bespectacled wizard is gearing up to celebrate his 25th birthday, the now highly anticipated Return to Hogwarts will take place in the gardens of the Orangerie, designed by Le Nôtre for the Palace of Versailles. Mark your calendars for next August 29 to join in on this show that promises to be exceptional, accessible through registration starting June 3, all without spending a single galleon!


One exceptional venue after another

After the sublime Sainte-Geneviève library,...

ve last year, which already had a grand affair with a huge quiz and the presence of the French voice of Dolores Umbridge, this year it’s the Château de Versailles that will host magic enthusiasts for a uniquely celebratory evening. For the occasion, the venue will completely rethink its famous event of Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes, to offer us a magical spectacle.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, budding wizards will be able to enjoy a variety of fun activities, like a group spell-casting class led by Paul Harris, the choreographer of wizarding duels in several films, along with many other surprises. For the occasion, The Orangery will be completely redesigned in the colors of the four houses, and the evening will feature a unique show in tribute to the first film, specially imagined for this event using drones and spectacular lights.


All kinds of celebrations

And while this day will undoubtedly be the highlight of 2026 for Potterheads from all over, many other activities are expected in the upcoming months. Just a few days ago, the Harry Potter Book Nights took place (from February 5 to 8). In the same spirit, ...

e, a cine-concert Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone will be organized at the Grand Rex in November. And it will even continue next year, with the release of the HBO series. What a way to fill up on magic !
