The sea that we see dancing, at the Cognacq-Jay Museum
Nuit Blanche is also a chance to take over the cobblestone courtyard of the Cognacq-Jay Museum, where Clara Tournay presents The sea that we see dancing, an enchanting installation made up of about fifteen sculptures from the Maeve series. You might catch a wink at feminine power in their misty forms, as this is the artist's intention to pay tribute to ancestral goddesses. The night also comes alive with three performances by the dancer.Hélène Guilguet who, through a subtle play of appearances and disappearances, breathes movement into these silent presences. A dialogue between matter, light, and body, right in the heart of the Marais.

Films in the Street
A grand unifying theme for this 24th edition, cinema sneaks out of the dark rooms to take over public spaces, but not just in any way: through the lens of the great female directors who shaped it in the 20th century. On June 7th, Agnès Varda, Chantal Akerman, and Delphine Seyrig will claim iconic squares and facades of the capital, transformed into ephemeral screens, for outdoor movies that you won't soon forget. For example, at Ferdinand-Brunot square (14th), One sings, the other doesn’t (1977) by Agnès Varda celebrates women's freedom in a musical and engaged fresco. At Place des Fêtes (19th), the mesmerizing Jeanne Dielman (1975) by Chantal Akerman unfolds its minimalist narrative, a tribute to silent rebellion. And in the Saint-Paul gardens (4th), Be Beautiful and Shut Up (1981) by Delphine Seyrig gives voice to 23 actresses, from Jane Fonda to Maria Schneider, denouncing sexism in the industry, a pioneering documentary leading to the #MeToo movement.

The lunar tips of the Île Saint-Louis
It's now Céline Bozon's turn, a cinematographer from La Fémis, to transform the Île Saint-Louis into a cinema set under the open sky. At both tips of the island, she, who has worked on the films Des Apaches (2015) and Annie Colère (2023), imagines a light installation where fiction seeps into reality. In Place Aragon, a "film moon" emerges like a piece of set decoration ripped from a shoot, bathing passersby in a strangely comforting light. In square Barye, it softly interacts...ur with the visual illusions of Adrien Lamm. The city becomes a backdrop, with passersby as characters.

What a White Night !, an animated film designed by Michel Gondry
The adventure continues with the discovery of the all new animated short film by Michel Gondry, who is already busy creating a colorful pop poster for this beautiful upcoming edition. In just 10 little minutes, What a Sleepy Night! immerses the viewer in a story that is as whimsical as it is touching, featuring a handy garage mechanic who, by a twist of fate, finds herself in the shoes of Valérie Donzelli, tasked with organizing the event. It's the perfect opportunity to understand the behind-the-scenes action through a quirky making-of, and also to stand alongside the artists and all the nighttime resistors who are trying, through art, to « revive the imagination and break the monotony of a rigid daytime world». A struggle to join in without fear, right from the forecourt of the Montparnasse train station, a place...

What do you e
. eternity, a sound journey in the Catacombs
This one is for the strong-hearted: for the very first time in its history, the Nuit Blanche dives twenty thousand leagues under the earth, or rather 200 feet beneath Place Denfert-Rochereau, into the depths of the Catacombs, with a unique sound journey. The path stretches for 900 meters, inviting a poetic stroll through the galleries where millions of Parisians rest. Experimental music by Éliane Radigue, a cantata by Bach interpreted by Glenn Gould, along with poems by Nerval, Baudelaire, Éluard, and Rimbaud will resonate in this underground haven, paying tribute to the voices of those who have passed. This event is envisioned by Xavier Donzelli, journalist and novelist (not affiliated with the aforementioned DA, despite appearances!).
