A Night of Freedom
If you don't always have time to go to the museum, if contemporary art intrigues you as much as it repels you, and if you don't always feel like you belong in an exhibition, here's some news that should make you happy. On June 1st, you don't need to go anywhere to enjoy art, because art is coming to you.
Throughout the evening, 13 projects supported by the City of Paris will be set up all around the capital, transforming your most familiar landmarks into temples of creation, and above all, of sharing. As you wander, you can be carried away by talented artists sharing their own vision of overseas territories, as well as current social and societal issues.

Without any commitment, without any pressure, you can switch from one to another, to inspire yourself, discover and enjoy, by rediscovering some of the most famous places in the capital in a different way. And, good news, it will even be an opportunity to take your walks a little further, to enjoy one of the 140 performances of the Grand-Paris, thanks to free Vélib' all night long!
An exceptional program
For an entire night, Paris, the center of the country, opens up to the outside world, to make us thrill, but also reflect, through exceptional creations. One example is Fireflies, a committed, militant and moving performance at the heart of the historic library of the city of Paris, which will make the words of Martinican author Patrick Chamoiseau shine.
You can discover the creation of the American artist d.’s Creole origin, Edgar Arceneaux, who takes over the Arènes de Montmartre at sunset to let us relive his family's entire history thanks to a dazzling play of mirrors (pun intended). Or enjoy a unique walk through the gardens of the musée du quai Branly, punctuated by huge frescoes by B.Bird and many dancers. Finally, why not meet up between Hôtel-de-Ville and République, to enjoy the gigantic musical procession of the Guadeloupean artist Kenny Dunkan. Thanks to this unique initiative, he immerses us in the atmosphere of tropical nights, while giving skateboarding, newly an Olympic sport, all its due respect. Other equally incredible and magical projects will be accessible at the Salpêtrière Hospital, Parc de Belleville, or even Palais Galliera, for an exceptional night. We hope to see many of you walking, dancing, feeling, dreaming, enjoying, and above all, grasping this dose of art within reach just right! Nuit Blanche 2024
