The Editor

There are places that endure through the ages, and then there are those that make history dance. Since 1946, Madame Arthur belongs to the latter. France's first drag cabaret and a genuine institution of Parisian nights, the venue has seen generations of artists and night owls pass through its doors, while establishing itself as an essential space of freedom for the queer scene. On its stage have notably performed Coccinelle and Bambi, mythical figures who helped write the history of the Parisian cabaret. Eight decades later, Madame Arthur continues to keep this legacy alive, but certainly not under glass. Because here, tradition reinvents itself and remixes with each new generation.

The cabaret that makes Pigalle nights come alive

At Madame Arthur, French song comes alive in a live setting, with piano, voice, and creatures with personalities as flamboyant as they are impossible to fit into a single box. Every month, new musical creations refresh the show, in a joyful blend of spiciness and irrev

cute;reverence and glamour. Lola Dragoness Von Flame, Diamanda Callas, Toulouse Latric, La Biche, Androkill, Klaude, PowerBeauTom, La Briochée or even Minima Gestée and her wild blind tests… The troupe boasts unique characters you won't find anywhere else.

But Madame Arthur doesn't just dust off old classics from the closet. At 80 years old, the venue updates its heritage by modernizing arrangements, often rewriting lyrics, twisting the staging and even the costumes. A touch of nostalgia here, a good dose of quirky humor there… Cabaret is performed here in the present tense, with this rare ability to blend heritage and French pop culture perfectly.

Let the party continue !

What you need to know about Madame Arthur is that the curtain doesn't really mean the end of the evening. Since 2024, the club has settled into the former Divan du Monde and transformed the space into a true nocturnal playground. Three rooms, three different vibes, four floors and five bars… Needless to say, there's plenty to exploree, et dans le meilleur sens du terme.

The DJs gradually take over to keep us dancing until 6 in the morning. With a team of ten resident DJs, Madame Arthur revisits the most iconic hits from the French-language catalog with a fun, danceable spirit, mixing and remixing. It's the perfect chance to (re)discover the gems of yesterday and today, butabove all about singing together, sometimes really loudly, often without a shred of shyness. Because the club's whole philosophy really comes down to two words: sharing and connection. A laid-back, down-to-earth atmosphere, musical references we all know and love, and that wonderful feeling that for a few hours, everyone's part of the same crew.
