Fireworks, concerts… What will New Year's Eve in Paris look like?

We can agree that celebrating the New Year on the Champs-Élysées isn’t usually the most glamorous option. However, if your plans fall through, you love being in a crowd, and waiting an hour for the metro doesn’t scare you, this “grand musical evening, as popular as it is eclectic,” as announced by France Télévisions, the event’s partner, could be just the thing for you.

Like every year since 2014, the City of Paris keeps Parisians entertained until the midnight chimes with concerts, activities, and a video spectacle, all on the world's most beautiful avenue and broadcast on France 2. Here’s the lineup!

1 million people expected

Forget about those unforgettable New Year’s resolutions! This New Year’s Eve will be held at the most fantastic venue in France, surrounded by stylish people everywhere... and that’s exactly what this grand evening promises! On December 31st, starting at 7 PM, one million people – as predicted – will attend concerts featuring a "plethora of live artists": David Hallyday, Chimène Badi accompanied by 100 choir singers, the troupe from Stars 80, Collectif métissé, Lio, Cerrone, Dany Brillant, Titouan from Junior Eurovision with the Petites Mains Symphoniques, and the band Imagination. You’ll also be able to dance along to three all-female DJ sets: Marine Neuilly, Piu Piu, and Barbara Butch. Nostalgia from the Olympics, here we come!

Celebrating Women Artists

One of the highlights of the evening (in our opinion) is the choice of a 100% female playlist during the fireworks show to showcase the incredible work of women in the music industry. After an amazing 3D video-mapping projection on the Arc de Triomphe featuring the colors of the Olympic spirit, the now-traditional fireworks display in Paris will wrap up this New Year celebration. For 10 minutes, it will be accompanied by the powerful voices of Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Aya Nakamura, Juliette Armanet, Amanda Lear, and more... It's the perfect way to kick off the year with “the most beautiful message,” says France Télévisions. A great way to win over those who are still on the fence!
