Former president and director of the Musée d’Orsay, Sylvain Amic — who left us unexpectedly on August 31st after just 18 months in the position — had initiated the creation of Orsay Live, a new and more open, experimental offering. These events, especially on Thursday evenings, offer immersive experiences, quirky performances, workshops, and discussions where everyone can share their thoughts. The idea is to connect 19th-century art with contemporary topics. With Orsay Live, the museum aims to attract a new generation of visitors and promote access to art for young audiences. Good news: entry remains free for those under 26.
Here are some of the evenings on the program:
Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
THE LIVING DREAMED BY ARTISTS
In connection with the exhibition dedicated to Paul Troubetzkoy, an engaged sculptor.
Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 7 PM to 10 PM
CAMILLE CLAUDEL: ART AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

The Musée d'Orsay is hosting an immersive evening dedicated to Camille Claudel, created in collaboration with students from Emmanuelle Huynh's workshop at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. In the Salle des fêtes, an interactive workshop will allow participants to rediscover her sculptures through a sensory approach, offering a fresh perspective on her work.
Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM
WOMEN IN ART: THE AUDACITY TO CREATE!

For a long time, femininity has been on the sidelines of the art world. Everyday scenes often highlighted by women painters—domestic scenes, motherhood, or portraits of women—were classified as "female subjects," deemed uninteresting or in bad taste, and thus pushed to the background in the history of painting. However, many artists have seized upon these themes to restore their nobility. For one evening, the Musée d'Orsay shines a light on their work through their pieces and journeys, broadening our perspective on art history.
Thursdays, November 13 and 27, and December 11 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
INSPIRE TO BE INSPIRED: SLOW VISIT

For 1.5 hours, participants, guided by Charlotte Wilkins (a tour guide and yoga teacher), will settle onto meditation cushions and do breathing exercises, listen to readings of texts, and enjoy moments of silence to freely contemplate the artworks in the permanent collection galleries.
