The initiative might seem a bit unusual at first, but it's truly commendable! The YouTuber and streamer with a million subscribers on X, Arkunir, has teamed up with the French Blood Establishment to take on a massive challenge: organizing a giant blood donation in Paris. "Imagine if thousands of people gathered for a single goal: to save lives," he shared in a video posted on Saturday, November 16. The tone is set: "We're going to set the European record for blood donations," he declared.

Four days of mobilization

The event will take place from November 28 to December 1 at the City Hall of Paris. The goal is to gather 4000 donors. A platform has been set up for you to check if you're eligible to donate blood, available on the dondesang website. After the release of its video, over 2000 people have already registered. “We all dreamed of becoming a superhero, this time it’s your turn,” emphasizes Arkunir.

Trying to replenish blood stocks to combat shortages

If the goal is met, about 12,000 lives could be saved. On average, 1.6 million donors mobilize each year to give blood.

Their blood in France. However, medical facilities are facing a significant blood shortage. At the beginning of the summer of 2024, the French Blood Establishment launched a call for mobilization to try to boost dangerously low stocks. At that time, 10,000 bags of blood were missing. The initiative taken by Arkunir is therefore even more important. If you’re of legal age, healthy, and meet the required medical criteria, don’t hesitate to sign up to donate your blood between November 28 and December 1. For those who are more hesitant, Arkunir has played their last card: “Free food at the end, if that can motivate the foodies!” If you're not in Paris at that time, make an appointment close to your home—every donation counts!
