Auction events happen every day in Paris. However, auctions that allow you to acquire a piece of the most famous monument in France and one of the most renowned in the world, well, those don't come around very often. Yet, on May 21st next, a historic piece of the Iron Lady will be up for sale.

A piece of historic staircase available for purchase

When elevators were a technology that seemed far away, various staircases connected the levels of the Eiffel Tower. Over the decades, particularly in 1983, modernization and automation work was done, making it easier to access the upper floors. The staircase was then taken down and twenty sections were sold at auction.

These spiral staircases are now scattered throughout the capital and even around the world: at the Yoishii Foundation in Japan, at Disneyland in the United States, and in multiple private collections. Soon, a lucky buyer will have the honor of purchasing a portion of this staircase built in 1889.

Sales that are raising the stakes high

This staircase, sold by a private individual, measures 2.75 meters tall and 1.75 meters in diameter. The sale organized by Artcurial could reach particularly high amounts: in 2013, another portion of the Eiffel Tower staircase of the same size was sold for 212,458 euros. In 2016, another piece reached 523,800 euros — a record. Currently, this section is...

estimated between 40,000 and 50,000 €. Now, the question is who will be ready to shell out several thousand euros to get this collectible piece
