Could it finally be the end of the Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès mystery? Not sure. What is certain, though, is that if we had earned 10 euros every time we had written this phrase, here at Le Bonbon, we would most certainly be multi-billionaires (and that's hardly an exaggeration).

So, in early March, a mysterious man named Jean, who resembled Dupont de Ligonnès, was spotted in Doubs, and now on April 9, bones have been found on a beach in Glénan. This discovery has revived rumors and sparked a new theory. After some quick analysis, the bones have revealed some of their secrets. So, could this be the resolution to this extraordinary case?
Hundreds of False Leads
And the result is clear, unfortunately, it is not the missing Nantes father. In fact, experts have determined that the bones belong to someone who died over 50 years ago. So, there seems to be a mix-up with the dates. But this is not very surprising, as he was never really expected to be found.
There was absolutely no reason for Ligonnès' remains to be discovered at this moment, in this region. So we can imagine that with all the new revelations about the case lately, some people have unfortunately jumped to conclusions a bit too quickly, wanting to join in the general excitement. Nothing serious, it will just be another false lead to add to the long list of over 1750 reported sightings...Le squelette retrouvé sur une plage des Glénan n’est pas celui de Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès

Jean still actively sought after
If this story about bones has definitely fallen through (quite literally, considering the beach, the sea, all that), the Doubs lead, however, remains current. Just a reminder, three people claim to have recognized in a religious congregation a man who could resemble XDDL. This man, calling himself Jean, claimed to have just left another religious community called "word of life". DNA analysis has been initiated on cups and cans, to determine if this man, wandering aimlessly without any identification documents, is indeed, the most sought-after man in the country. But for now, the mystery remains unsolved, and the
"Les ossements trouvés dans le Var ne sont pas ceux de Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès". Bonne nouvelle. Sinon sa famille aurait été terrassée.
