Metro: Paris's worst line closed again this weekend

We know you're getting used to it by now. That said, it's our duty to keep informing you week after week about the disruptions caused by Paris's worst line to all its passengers. And this Sunday, September 27th, it's doing it all over again for another day of chaos…

If some of you are still wondering whether the number 13 is a synonym for happiness or misfortune, it's high time to stop and face the facts—it's clearly an instrument of evil. You just have to live in the capital and ride line 13 to realize it, because it's by far the worst in the city — yes, we think that even line 8 has made an effort lately and no longer deserves the title. And things won't improve this Sunday, September 27th, following yet another traffic interruption.


A troublesome morning

It's probably the 173,368th time since the beginning of 2026 that we're writing these words — and that you're reading them — but this Sunday, line 13 will be completely inaccessible, from the opening of service until noon. connection will obviously be open, and you'll sometimes need to get creative to reach your destination. A replacement bus will still be put in place between Asnières–Gennevilliers–Les Courtilles and Porte de Clichy stations, but our survival tip is simple: it's a Sunday morning, so take the chance to treat yourself to a glorious lie-in and stay in bed.


Looking on the Bright Side

And, once again, we're sorry to tell you that this won't be the last time this year that we announce such news. Indeed, between now and the end of December, five Sundays will still be affected by unexpected closures. We try to stay positive by seeing the glass half full. Because while these disruptions are definitely frustrating, they do mean that line 13 is getting a major makeover, to welcome the new MF19 trains, but also to prepare for its automation. Which means it could very soon leave behind its reputation as the worst line and reach the top of the rankings for Paris's best metro lines. And that's excellent news.
