This edition is the biggest of all time, and we're not just talking about the size of the American hot dogs. With 1,248 selected players, it’s an absolute record. The matches are taking place in sixteen stadiums, including eleven right here in North America. Forty-eight days of competition to crown the new king of the world.

On the financial side, FIFA means business: an unprecedented budget of $871 million is allocated for prizes, with $50 million (€43 million) going to the winner, which is 7 million more than what Argentina received in 2022 in Qatar. And what about FIFA's total revenue during the tournament? A whopping $8.9 billion. This World Cup is on track to become the most profitable in football history.

Les Bleus: One more star, please?

Off to Boston! After two friendly matches, the French team has flown to Massachusetts to train until their first match against Senegal on the 16th.

uin. The schedule for the Blues in the group stage looks like this: France against Senegal on June 16 at 9 PM, then France-Iraq on June 22 at 11 PM, and finally France-Norway on June 26 at 9 PM

And the French believe it! According to an ELABE-BFM-RMC survey, 60% of the French see the Blues reaching the semi-finals, and 15% imagine them as world champions. The bookmakers think so too: France is the 2nd favorite after Spain, with odds at 6. It's not just about glory. The FFF had a deficit of 8.7 million euros in 2025, so the 43 million euros at stake are very timely. One more star and the accounts will be nearly balanced.

It's hard not to compare the ambitions of the Blues with those of PSG this season. Without Mbappé but certainly not without ambition, the capital club has achieved an amazing European journey. This is proof that in France, football is more alive than ever and the hunger for victory has not changed.

Mbappé: the Record Hunter

We've been waiting for news, and here they are! Voted the top scorer of the 2022 World Cup with 8 goals, Kylian Mbappé is aiming for an incredible double, a feat never achieved in the history of the World Cup. And honestly, given his season, it would be foolish not to believe it. Since the start of the 2025-2026 season, he has scored 24 times in just 27 La Liga matches, with a pace that far surpasses his first season in Madrid. He has also finished as the top scorer in La Liga with 25 goals. In short: Kylian is on fire.

Already Controversies Before the Kickoff

Not everything is perfect in the land of Uncle Sam. The ultra-strict immigration policies in the United States are already making waves: a Somali referee was denied entry to the country, and an Iraqi player was held for hours at customs. On top of that, there are the outrageous ticket prices, with one ticket resold for 17,199 euros, not to mention a significant environmental impact. The biggest World Cup in history, indeed! But with a few hiccups that remind us that football, even at this level, never goes off without a hitch.

As the first notes of the World Cup anthem echo in American stadiums, one thing is certain: this 2026 World Cup is already set to create a unique chapter in football history. Bigger, richer, and more media-covered than any before, it holds as many dreams as it does controversies. For the Blues, the goal is clear: to snag a third star and solidify their status among the giants of world football. For Mbappé, it's a chance to continue his legendary story. And for the fans, it's all about a month and a half of emotions, suspense, and evenings spent holding their breath in front of their screens.
