It's the most anticipated event for the faithful in France and around the world. This Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10 a.m., Pope Leo XIV will arrive in France for his very first visit to the country since taking office. In fact, at precisely 10 a.m., the bells of all churches in France will ring for seven minutes in his honor. But on that day, the Holy Father will also have a particularly packed schedule and will travel through the capital aboard his popemobile to meet with the faithful. Here's more about his route.

2.5 kilometers among the faithful
It's a 2.5-kilometer route that the Pope will take through the streets of Paris and the crowds that will gather there, between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The journey will start from Notre-Dame-de-Champs Church, then continue along Boulevard Montparnasse to Port-Royal, before heading to Boulevard Saint-Michel and reaching Place Saint-Michel. He will end near Île de la Cité, before heading to Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral where he will celebrate vespers.
A day divided between Paris and Saint-Denis
This stroll through the capital won't be the only thing on the Pope's agenda this Friday, September 25th. Upon his arrival, he will also go to
grave; the Élysée Palace to meet with President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, then at UNESCO headquarters. In the evening, he will lead a massive mass at the Stade de France before 80,000 people.The next day, he will officiate at Place de la Concorde before several hundred thousand faithful. He will then travel to Lourdes and Metz.
