The Editor

On September 20th and 21st, the capital will transform into a museum under the open sky, welcoming a new edition of the European Heritage Days (JEP). It's the perfect opportunity to discover a number of unusual activities and visits throughout the City of Light. But be careful, to ensure the smooth running of operations and the safety of everyone, the Police Prefecture has already announced a number of traffic restrictions. We’ll tell you everything.

Limited Restrictions

Don’t worry, it won’t be disastrous, as only Paris Center, near the Bank of France and the Council of State, as well as the surroundings of the Champs-Élysées are subject to specific restrictions. More specifically, no motorized vehicles will be able to circulate on the street.

Saint-Honoré, between rue de Rohan and rue de Valois, as well as place du Palais-Royal, on September 20 and 21 from 8 AM to 5 PM. On the side of rue La Vrillière, the same rule applies between rue La Feuillade and rue Catinat, but with a slightly broader time frame, as the ban is in effect from September 19, 2025, at 7 AM until September 22, 2025, at 6 PM. Finally, on September 21, during the event "Le Triomphe du Patrimoine," no vehicles will be allowed in a wide area defined by the streets Arsène Houssaye, Lord Byron, Chateaubriand, Washington, d'Artois, de Berri, Ponthieu, the avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt, the west of the Champs-Élysées roundabout, avenue Montaigne, rue François Ier, avenue Georges V, rue Vernet, avenue Marceau, and rue de Presbourg.

A Day All About Culture

These restrictions, as limiting as they may seem, are actually quite light, and especially for a good cause, as they allow for the smooth running of the European Heritage Days. Two exceptional days to rediscover some of the most beautiful monuments in the capital, some of which are completely inaccessible to the public for the rest of the year! Plus, you can join in on unique events, like an huge LEGO tournament on the Champs-Élysées, an exclusive tour of the Bank of France focusing on the history of banknotes, and the discovery of the country’s gold reserve, or even a visit to the Council of State, right in the heart of the magnificent Palais-Royal.
