This weekend, the whole of France is gearing up to celebrate the 106th anniversary of the Armistice of 1918, featuring a grand ceremony on the Champs-Élysées. However, to ensure this event goes smoothly, the Police Prefecture has revealed a lengthy list of streets closed to traffic and parking.

Dozens and dozens of affected streets

Starting on Sunday, November 10, 24 streets or sections of streets in the 8th, 16th, and 17th districts will be off-limits for parking. If your beloved vehicle happens to be in one of these areas, you're politely invited to remove it between 2 PM and 5 PM, which is when the ceremony wraps up. The vast Champs-Élysées avenue will be affected, along with several parallel streets surrounding the Champs-Élysées Garden.

and from the Arc de Triomphe. And at the same time, even under normal circumstances, do we really want to park in the area ?

Half of Paris in the Red

And unfortunately, when it comes to traffic, the list is even longer, this time affecting 31 roadways across 4 different districts: the 7th, 8th, 16th, and 17th. This measure isn’t likely to improve traffic thanks to the implementation of a low traffic zone throughout central Paris at the beginning of the week… The only good news is that the restriction will be in place only on November 11, from 7 am to 2 pm. So just 7 little hours of hassle, but they should wrap up before you even have the chance to say "wow!" The affected area stretches from Concorde to Porte Ma.
