Is it possible to block navigation on an entire section of the Seine? It seems it is! On Monday, October 26, 2026, the Paris Police Prefecture announced that an entire stretch of the river would be closed during the night of Saturday, October 31 for four hours, from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. This ban applies to a specific section of the Seine: between Pont Neuf and Pont Saint-Michel, a total of 400 meters. But what explains this closure?

A stunt performer will dive into the Seine for a film shoot
This closure is due to a film production taking place during this time slot. The sequence notably requires a stunt performer's jump. The area therefore needs to be secured and no boats can circulate except those that are « necessary to ensure the supervision and safety of the shoot ». Beforehand, divers will be deployed to check the water depth, and to make sure no obstacles on the bottom could pose a danger.
