In just a few days, the whole of France is getting ready to celebrate the 107th anniversary of the Armistice of 1918, including a grand ceremony on the Champs-Élysées, just like every year. However, to ensure this event goes smoothly and safely, the Police Prefecture has revealed a list as long as your arm of streets closed to traffic and parking. Unfortunately, it’s even longer than last year!

Dozens and dozens of streets affected

Starting from Monday, November 10 at 5 PM, there will be no less than 29 streets, stretches of streets, and other roundabouts in the 8th, 16th, and 17th districts closed off for parking. This will last until the next day at 2 PM. If your favorite vehicle is parked in one of those streets...

You are therefore politely invited to remove it as soon as possible, so it doesn't end up in the impound lot quicker than it takes to say “Dominique, where are the keys? I'm going to move the car”. This concerns the vast thoroughfare of Champs-Élysées, as well as several parallel streets surrounding the namesake garden and the Arc de Triomphe. And honestly, even under normal circumstances, do we really want to park in this area?

Half of Paris in the Red

Unfortunately, when it comes to traffic, the list is even longer, this time affecting dozens of streets across 4 different districts: the 7th, 8th, 16th, and 17th. The area impacted stretches from Porte Maillot to the Seine, near the Champs-Élysées garden, encompassing both sides of the most beautiful avenue in the world. The only good news is that the restrictions will only happen on November 11th, between 7 AM and 2 PM. Just 7 little hours of hassle, which should be over before you even have time to get annoyed. However, we want to give you a heads up: this ceremony will likely createDisruptions in the metro are a bit more bothersome. We promise, we'll keep you updated.  In the meantime, the complete list of closed streets can be found right here !
